I worked with a professional footballer once. He was getting very nervous about shooting goals. He kept missing even though he was very talented. I insisted that he kept watching himself on TV scoring goals and burned that image into his consciousness. I didn’t want him thinking about anything else. Every time he had a negative thought he was to switch that picture, either on the TV or on the TV in his mind. And he was to surround the thought with positive emotions of love and respect for himself.
A lot of emphasis is put on the new age philosophy that we have to think positive thoughts but more importantly we have to focus on what is behind the thoughts, that is your state of being. Are you in a “fulfilled” state or are you in a “needy” state. Needy state is an illusion that thing you desire will buy you happiness. This greatly hampers the manifestation and you would be attached to the outcome and not be able to put in your best efforts. Be in the fulfilled state. Now it can get tricky here, you will now put the fulfilled state into a desirable object. Don’t do that, you just have to keep watching your mind objectively when it acts in needy state and that state will lose its grip. I highly recommend Anthony de Mello’s book “The Way to Love” to go beyond attachments and fear. Also find a meditation path that suits you. This will greatly help you to align your intentions with the totality’s intentions.

Did you ever see someone red in the face with anger suddenly see the humor in a situation and burst into laughter? It can be one of the most beautiful things to witness. I am motivated and encouraged after reading this book. This book talks about the power of affirmation and how it can be manifested in your life in whatever situation or circumstance you are in. This is helpful especially for those who struggle and are at odds with life. It will also push you to have a positive outlook in life and exudes positive energy and positive vibes. The different affirmation statements given are beneficial and uplifting. They are so powerful that even as I am reading and trying to recite and repeat them, I could sense positive energy flowing in. Truly, positive affirmations bring positive effects in you! I recommend this book to everyone.
This takes practice, but I promise if you stick with it, it will work. I went from a place of such illness and financial poverty to the exact opposite and I believe so much of it had to do with my shift in focus. When I received my stem cell transplant in India (which by the way practically fell in my lap when I finally wasn’t focusing on illness as much), I was literally catapulted into another culture: “the mind leads and the body follows.” I was not allowed to focus on the symptoms and the sucky things each day. My doctor there simply would not stand for it and would immediately say “the stem cells help heal your body along with your mind. They do not kill or address disease at all.” When I attempted to add my two cents about this bacteria or toxin, she would bring me back to the focus on bringing my body up, toward healing. And I healed exponentially faster than so many others that resisted her insistence away from the talk of disease specifics. She knew very well what she was doing….and I see that now.

An incomplete description can leave multiple options for the materialization of your dream; some may be just what you asked for but not at all what you wanted. Be specific. We could go back and forth for years about this since your beliefs are based on faith and mine are based on proven effectiveness. You have faith in a system that sometimes seems to work for you and when it doesn't you adapt your thinking to say, this is obviously good for me and that's why I'm attracting it. I would rather make my list of goals based on my values and principles and attain them in an inspired (by a more complete visualization method) in an action-based system where I am in control..
Remember that there is a difference between sending out a hope that something you'd like to happen will happen and putting in the appropriate effort or planning to ensure that something actually will happen. If you don't believe that something will happen, perhaps you're not willing to plan and work for it. You need a balance of both hope (to inspire) and effort (to achieve) for an outcome to be realized.

Use positive self-talk to motivate yourself to take action. It’s normal to have negative thoughts about yourself, but this can hold you back. When you catch yourself thinking negatively, question that thought and replace it with a positive thought. Additionally, repeat your favorite positive mantra to yourself throughout the day to keep yourself on track.[13]
