I read similar books often. I loved The Secret series by Rhonda Byrne. But this book adds meat to the bones of all the other LOA books I have read. It explains how and why LOA may, or may not, work for you. The writing style is conversational and clear. The guidance appears sincere. The book is written by someone who wants you to really understand LOA and how it can work in your life. I came away inspired to try LOA instead of saying 'what drivel.' Yes, there are a multitude of typos. Try and not get stuck on those. Instead, look for the message. It is laid out and waiting for you to try it. I will.
Although the theory behind the Law of Attraction is very simple, putting it into practice on a conscious level takes work. Negative and limiting belief systems are buried deep inside us. In his 1910 The Science of Getting Rich Wallace D. Wattles espoused similar principles — that simply believing in the object of your desire and focusing on it will lead to that object or goal being realized on the material plane (Wattles claims in the Preface and later chapters of this book that his premise stems from the monistic Hindu view that God provides everything and can deliver what we focus on). The book also claims negative thinking will manifest negative results.
I am trained as a "hard science" PhD in Pharmacology and do understand scientific method. The LOA is not based on scientific method and the erroneous conclusions in metaphysics are based on incorrect scientific assumptions. These assumptions may have seemed reasonable in the 1800s that there was no air around us, only ether and that thoughts only transmit through ether. Perhaps this assumption is correct, however we are not surrounded by ether.
As you move forward defining characteristics and attributes, define physical attributes and define the associated feelings. If you are shooting for happy, define happy. What is that for you? Take time to define and describe every detail. Remember the old saying, ‘Be careful what you ask for you just might get it?’ Keep in mind that you leave nothing to chance. An incomplete description can leave multiple options for the materialization of your dream; some may be just what you asked for but not at all what you wanted. Be specific. The more time you spend here, the more comprehensive your definition of your dream, the more accurately your dream will materialize in a way that closely resembles what you desire.
Use positive self-talk to motivate yourself to take action. It’s normal to have negative thoughts about yourself, but this can hold you back. When you catch yourself thinking negatively, question that thought and replace it with a positive thought. Additionally, repeat your favorite positive mantra to yourself throughout the day to keep yourself on track.

wallace wattles is not god. just because a teacher of a subject says something dumb like don't help the poor ever doesn't mean the whole subject they teach is worthless. but it's true that if you surround yourself with low achieving struggling people it will effect you differently than the opposite and if you think about illness and victimhood most of the time it will effect you differently than health and power

It’s important to understand that mindfulness isn’t about changing anything or trying to understand it. This is because the analytical and judgement aspects — our automatic reactions — are unhealthy and actually perpetuate the problem.
